    Apple Galette

With the Winter Chill in the air, it's hard to beat the smell of Apple Pie cooking in the oven, and that delicious smell wafting through the house. What's even better than that is creating a recipe using my new favourite apple, appropriately named Envy™ by Montague - the newest and sweetest apple in their range. I was lucky recently to attend the launch of the new Envy™ apple at a lovely High Tea that I attended with my mum in celebration of Mother's Day. But even better than

    Chickpea Frittata + Veg Deliveries

My veggie packed Caramelised Onion Chickpea Frittata with healthy Roasted Capsicum Sauce, all started with the delivery of my Chris Antico Fruit and Veg Box. Sydney weather had me sweating it out at over 40 degrees, and the thought of venturing out to re-stock the fridge just didn't seem like an appealing option. A few clicks on the Chris Antico website, and a lovely guy arrived at my door with the 'Little Chris'. Why it's called 'little' I'll never know, as it was absolutely

    Maqui Mango Chia Oat Parfait

Maqui and Mango have to be two of my favourite flavour combinations, and chia, oats and psyllium are something I have been having for breakfast as part of my healthy eating journey for the last 3 years. So I thought it was probably time to combine the favourites together into something pretty and delicious for you all. I've used this combo in a raw vegan cheesecake as well. You can check that out my Maqui Mango Cheesecakes here. Today I used some of my new products from MyPro

    Blueberry Gluten Free Pancakes

These have to be some of the fluffiest pancakes I have made in a while, and being Gluten Free, they don't make you feel bloated afterwards. Even if you eat too many of them, like I did! The blueberries add the most delicious burst of flavour and moisture. No wonder blueberry pancakes have been around for such a long time. They're always a winner. These are made from a Gluten Free Plain Flour Mix which is a combination of Tapioca, Rice Flour and thickener. These are all very '

    Pumpkin Protein Pancakes

Tis' the season for Pumpkin related foods. Even though it's Spring in Australia, I do love Autumn spices all year round. These pancakes are made super flavourful, healthy, fluffy and protein packed whilst being refined sugar free, with the use of roast pumpkin, vanilla protein powder and granulated stevia. When using protein powder to cook, my most obvious advice to you is to use one that doesn't taste gross to drink! Sounds relatively straight forward right. It's like using

    Back 2 Earth Farm Stay

The beautiful South Coast of Sydney, including the Shoalhaven and Berry is basically where my kids grew up during school holidays, visiting grandparents, body boarding, building sandcastles, and playing golf. It is such a stunning area, and only 2 hours drive south of Sydney. So it's great for a day trip, or a quick getaway for the weekend. I've never been anywhere quite like it, where the stunning Seven Mile Beach is a few minutes in one direction, and lush mountains a few m

    Spirulina Protein Smoothie Bowl

Green Smoothie Bowls never get old. Even though they might all be green, you can add so many different things to them, that the flavour combinations are endless. Today I used lots of the great fruit vegetables provided to me in my welcome basket by the lovely Jenny and Marc from Back2Earth , during my recent farm stay with the family. The main feature of the colour of this bowl is spinach and spirulina. Spirulina is packed with powerful antioxidants, protein and B vitamins, e

    Choc Protein Smoothie Bowl

No matter the weather, smoothie bowls always seem to be on the menu. Chocolate and fruit, just seem to go hand in hand. They are the happy marriage of what appears unhealthy (but isn't) and what's super healthy. So psychologically they balance each other out! The chocolate flavour comes from Cacao powder and Cacao Protein powder, so it really isn't bad for you at all, but full of antioxidants. Normally to make choc smoothie bowls, people tend to use a lot of frozen bananas, a

    Ombre GF Pancakes

I love me a good vegan pancake stack on a wet day, well, any day is good for pancakes really. These yummy vegan, gluten free pancakes, are coloured with cooked beetroot, and topped with a beetroot stained sweet yoghurt sauce. Beetroot is full of fibre and antioxidants, so it's great to find ways of incorporating it in to your meals. I created the ombre effect just by blending some beetroot with a little water to get it going in a small blender, and then added it to the pancak

    Choc Chip GF Pancakes

I seem to be going through a bit of a Gluten Free pancake phase at the moment. I don't have any issues with gluten particularly, but avoiding it in certain recipes, like pancakes and pasta, sure does may me feel less bloated afterwards. For the choc chips in this recipe, I used Cacao Nibs, but you could sub in your favourite choc chips of choice, or some crushed dark chocolate pieces. I also smothered them in a lot more chocolate sauce after this photo, layed them flat on a b

    Turmeric Maca Zoats

After having my first Turmeric Latte in Melbourne this week, I knew I wanted to incorporate the healing properties of turmeric in one of my favourite hot oats bowls. This delicious oatmeal combines oats, dates , coconut milk, coconut water, tahini, Maca, Turmeric Spice Blend, stevia and zucchini, to create a filling and nutritious breakfast. As always, zucchini is a great way to add some more vegetables to your day, plus it adds bulk and volume, without any flavour. The Spice

    Healthier Flavoured Milk Ideas

As my own health and sugar free journey has progressed, so has my desire to find healthier alternatives for my kids. Some new recipes that I have tried out on them have been a huge success, some have been looked at with suspicious eyes, and some met with total refusal! But I persevere, as like every parent, I want the best for my family. The thing I love about kids, is that there's no hiding how they feel about things. If they totally dislike something, you'll know about it!

    Maqui Mango Cheesecakes

Mango is my all time favourite fruit, so combining it into a vegan cheesecake was a given. Adding an antioxidant packed Maqui layer was a fun chance to practice my different layering techniques whilst also adding a nutritional and flavour boost. As with all of my cheesecakes, I make them in mini size to reduce the calories, and make them the perfect snack size. All though they are made with whole ingredients, it doesn't make them calorie free, so eat them in moderation. I sto

    Pear and Apple Pie Oats

Pear and Apple Pie Oats, as a change from just the standard Apple Pie. A delicious and fragrant mix of spices, sweetness and lemon. Adding spices to your oats really livens them up, and gives you the opportunity to change up the flavour on a regular basis. I always find the key to spiced oats, is to balance it with sweetness. So use a good quality natural sweetener. If you don't like, or don't have time for hot oats, these can also be prepared as cold Overnight Oats. Just add

    Raspberry Swirl Cheesecake Bites

When raspberries are in season, one must use them in all possible desserts! With a chocolate and dried fruit-free base - for those who don't like dates! A creamy and vegan mix of cashews, raspberries and lemon. Made as always in the perfect bite-sized portion. Raw treats are great, and made from natural whole foods, but they aren't calorie free! So eat them in moderation. To make it even easier, I make them in bite sized silicone moulds. Because they are so rich, and creamy,

    Pumpkin Pie Pancakes

Pumpkin Pie Pancakes just have to be the perfect winter treat breakfast. So warming with the delicate aroma of cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg spices mixed with the sweetness of the syrup! I topped mine with lots of fruit, lightly toasted coconut flakes and a drizzle of rice malt syrup. When I first started eating healthy food 'properly' about 3 years ago now, and gave up refined sugar, I read in Sarah Wilson's I Quit Sugar cookbook that she baked pumpkin, pureed it and froze it.

Neapolitan Pancakes with Chocolate Cashew Cream

These have to be added to the Childhood Favourite, Indulgent Series! The pancakes themselves are harmless enough, and coloured red with Organic Beetroot Powder. So pretty! I love how adaptable beetroot powder is to so many dishes. But the cashew cream definitely falls into the 'treat' category, and is leftover from my neapolitan cheesecake recipe, just with some cacao powder added. Nom! Very indulgent. Top it with coconut cream, and you have a great start to the school holida
