Passion Maqui Mango Protein Surprise

After yesterday's sudden storm it is back to around 35 degrees Celsius in Sydney today. So hot!

Maybe not the best day to go to IKEA. But $1000 later and here we are!

That place is as hard to get out of as Bunnings! (Which is a huge warehouse in Australia)

So these smoothies were the perfect afternoon treat. A delicious combo of Mango, Passionfruit, Banana, and Vanilla Protein Powder, then blended with spinach and tropical spirulina powder for the green colour, and Maqui for the purple.

The 'Surprise' part is that I added a cup of raw cauliflower florets to the mix. Not only it it a great way to hide some veggies, but it's also a great way to bulk out your smoothies for low calories, plus give the smoothie a great creamy texture.

Did I mention that my hubby hates cauliflower. But he couldn't stop telling me about how much he loved this! The magic of the smoothie!


Passion Maqui Mango Protein Surprise

(Serves 2-3)

2 frozen bananas

1 cup frozen mango

Pulp of 2 Passionfruit

1 serve vanilla protein powder

1-2 tsp granulated stevia (to taste)

1 cup raw cauliflower florets (optional)

1/2 cup coconut water (more to consistency)

Tray of ice

Blend and seperate into 2 parts

Green Layer - add spirulina and a handful of baby spinach

Purple Layer - add 1/2 tsp Maqui powder

*If not adding protein powder, add 1/2 tsp vanilla extract if desired
