Pear and Apple Pie Oats

Pear and Apple Pie Oats, as a change from just the standard Apple Pie. A delicious and fragrant mix of spices, sweetness and lemon.

Adding spices to your oats really livens them up, and gives you the opportunity to change up the flavour on a regular basis. I always find the key to spiced oats, is to balance it with sweetness. So use a good quality natural sweetener.

If you don't like, or don't have time for hot oats, these can also be prepared as cold Overnight Oats. Just add the ingredients to a container and stir well. Place in the fridge overnight, and they'll be ready to eat, or grab and go in the morning!

Pear and Apple Pie Oats

(Serves 1)

1/2 cup oats

1 cup almond milk or milk of choice

1/2 grated apple

1/2 grated pear

1 Tbsp granulated stevia (or natural sweetener of choice)

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp ginger

1/8 tsp nutmeg

1/8 tsp cardamom

Pinch of ground cloves

Pinch of salt

1 Tbsp lemon juice

1 cup water (add as needed)

Cook all ingredients in a pot on the stove until thickened. Approx 8-10 minutes.

Add water as required

Top with fresh fruit and drizzle with your favourite syrup
